When you inquire about a session you will be a sent a link to schedule a phone consult. This is not required, but most folks prefer going this route so they can get a feel for if we’ll be a good fit. I WANT you to be comfortable with me and I think phone calls are the easiest way to connect! We’ll discuss your dream session and the process of working with me. It’s short and sweet, promise.

After we chat you’ll be sent a link to book your session. Session fees are $450 and include hair and makeup. Upon booking you’ll be given the option to set up a pre payment plan. I HIGHLY encourage you do this. It’s essentially putting money into a savings account for your session day so you don’t have to worry about paying for everything up front. If you aren’t sure which collection you’ll want, choose the lowest collection and add on the day of your session.

I also include one bonus set add on if you set your pre payment plan up the day you book (Payments must start within 30 days).

Yay, you’re booked! I am so excited to work with you! Once you’ve booked your session you’ll be sent an email (check your spam!) giving you access to the Feral Fern Boudoir Guide + helpful links to help you plan for your session. What to wear, what to expect, how to prep leading up to your session (hydrate!), and some loving lectures about self love. Please don’t feel like you’re alone in shopping or planning, I am here to help! Email me any time to ask questions or even send me outfit ideas if you’re struggling with what to choose.

It is time! Your session day is here and you’re about to experience a full day of pampering, YASSS. Upon arriving you’ll begin hair and makeup almost immediately. This can take a bit so it’s important you show up ready to go (info on that in the guide). I highly encourage you to bring examples of hair and makeup you love. Once hair and makeup is done we’ll begin shooting! I generally do 3 outfits and 3 sets so you have a good variety to go through when choosing your collection. I know you’re worried about being awkward but I can assure you, I am the awkward one here, haha! Once you get a few poses down you’ll realize this is actually fun and not so hard. The hardest part is holding those poses. It’s a workout, so be sure to stretch beforehand!

You do not need to know any poses when you arrive. I have a whole workflow I go through with you. I pose for you first, then you copy me. I’ll adjust your hands, legs, feet, hair, and yes, your face if necessary. Always with consent! If you’re not okay being touched let me know (I ask beforehand and in your questionnaire).

After we’re done shooting (usually for an hour to an hour and a half) I’ll send you to lunch. While you’re re energizing with some good eats I’ll be back at the studio going through you images and choosing the best of the best. I do basic edits on each image I choose so you can get an idea of what your portraits will look like when they’re fully edited.

Speaking of editing, I do smooth skin and fix any blemishes that aren’t permanent. I will NOT adjust your body, though, so if you’re wanting to be that heavily edited I may not be the photographer for you. If you don’t want your skin smoothed or blemishes fixed, please tell me and I can adjust how I edit!

I also want to clarify that what you see on my website/socials is what you get. I will not edit bright and airy, my images are very moody. Please choose me because you want that.

It is time! For you to see your pictures, that is. This is probably my favorite part because I love LOVE seeing you see yourself. There’s laughter, big smiles, and sometimes happy tears (and then I cry with you, haha). Please come prepared to make final decisions for what collection you want. Before your session you’ll have been sent collection pricing multiple times. Come ready knowing what your budget is and if you’re willing to upgrade if you truly love your images. Most clients do upgrade and go home with AT LEAST an 8×8 album and 20 digital images. Seeing yourself in print is absolute magic. I highly encourage everyone take an album home.

Payment plans are available to set up at your viewing appointment and can be pushed out up to a year. You will not receive your products/images until final payment, but this is an option most clients take because it’s really hard to say no when your tush looks that good. Ha!

Products are delivered within 8 weeks of final payment, so if you pay the day of your viewing appointment (or have prepaid) you can expect your products to arrive within that timeframe.
